Alas Pakistan and Karachi have not seen such occasions since the 1990s! So sad!

It's amazing. Are there any more hockey stadiums like this?? The only ones I know of are basically clubs stadiums like at Amsterdam or Rotterdam, and off course the newly-built warsteiner hockey park.

Nice finds asrar. It's a pity indeed. In the 80s there were regular hockey clubs in many localities, but they are hard to find now. I wouldn't be exaggerating by claiming that they're extinct. Nowadays kids aren't seen playing hockey in dusty grounds or streets anymore (except a few schools). It's all cricket. This trend can also be seen in the selection of the national hockey team. The likes of Shahbaz Ahmed are nowhere to be found. The system is producing nothing, but junk. Good quality players are hard to come by. The game has been on a massive decline since the last few years. In a few years time hockey will be nonexistent in Pakistan. That's not so hard to predict. I think it'll be a blessing in disguise considering the way things are being handled at the moment. The time has come to put off the machines so to speak and put an end to the misery. The hockey stadiums need to transformed for other more useful purposes. I don't care, just use them for elections or something. The time for 'radical overhauls' and 'positive transformations' are over. To be more specific, the time of false promises and wastage of taxpayers' money should now be over. It's time to face reality and put a full stop. To all the good things comes an end.

Ehmm, there's no crowd at all. The stadium is empty. I guess it was just a training day.

Is that stadium still there??? does the Pakistan Hockey Team use it for Practice and Friendlies??? sorry dont know much about the Pakistan Setup... Someone said in another post somewhere that the Pitches in pakistan were getting bad... that looks ok to me mind you probably need a closer look at the pitch to make a fairer judgement.

Yeah, the stadium is still there, but whether it's kept in good condition, I don't know. Also, I don't know which year the pic was taken.
