a team mate of mine has it. good for bit hitters seems to be quite a nice stick. no idea what its like for dragflicking but from what i've seen it should handle it. thought if your thinkin about going down the whole gragflicking thing have a look at the grays jumbos (6000 and 4000) as they really do work and are nice sticks in general

cant say ive ever had a play with the 6000 but i have toyed around with the 6000 turbo and the 7000 turbo as well as the 7000 and 4000 and all three of those sticks seem to be rather decent for all the general work. at the moment im using a 7000 turbo for flicking and they seem to be doing all the right things, only problem now is that since ive had to change my action to accomodate the change in bow (went from a 43mm to a 21mm) ive got to get myy accuracy back

Think that is just a 20mm bow, you can still flick with that of course, have a look around you can get other sticks with a bigger bow for the same price. Just depends if you want a Grays or not.

youy want this seasons grays gx4000 jumbow, its now orange and has about a 35-40mm bow, haven't had time to check it yet.  And before the screams of it being illegal, at rest it has about a 19mm bow.  Ashley Jackson has been using them for half a seaons and his dragflicking has improved from the first half when he could hit a barn door.

the stick ashley jackson uses is blue and white and has a 24.5mm bow so dont know where you get your info from mullet but I would say it is wrong

I know Ashley Jackson because I play at East grinstead and have been to everygame as East grinstead Photographer.  Since christmas Ash has been using as prototype orange GX4000

We all know that the stick is measured at rest, so the the stick is weighted to be heel heavy.  if you where to measure the stick actual bow by holding the toe so then the bow would be 35-40mm, but as it rock onto its back edge quite dramatically at rest then the bow is only 19mm, but the toe of the stick is a good 2" off the ground.  I know this because iwas talking to the TD at the loughborough game when the umps asked for it to be measured.  Since getting this new stick Ash's accuracy has got better.

So in finishing the stick has a 19mm-25mm bow, but as we know from the old gx4000 in reality the bow is bigger than that because of how the FIH says it should be measured.  And the new stick has in reality got an even greater bow than the old one

there is two players in the u21 national team who have rebent their tk sticks so they got a bigger bow than is legal but its bent in a way that a 2 eurocoin cant pass under it

i think FIH are going to change this rule when more companys starts to use this method

Suppose its not technically illegal, but it is bending the rules. FIH should do something.

well i use the gx 6000 jumbo and its been bent to 34mm im still allowed to play with it in Hong Kong as the rule is dependent on the manufacturer not what you do with it

I had a friend who, about 6 years ago I might add, scored over 30 drag-flicks in a season with a stick that was pretty much dead straight. A combination of wrist strength and good technique was all he used.

It would be nice if well-taught technique were encouraged rather than bendier sticks.

I have a GX6000 myself so know how much they enhance the ability to flick but I am playing now with a straighter stick to encourage better technique.

The bottom line really is that hundreds of kids will be practising drag-flicking but only very few people are good enough and consistent enough to do it regularly in a team - otherwise there would be 7 or 8 of us lining up at the top of the D to take them!!
These kids would be better spending their time honing passing, dribbling and hitting skills rather than drag-flicking which is, IMHO, taking a lot of the finesse and imagination out of hockey in the same way the 'Big' servers have dumbed-down Men's tennis.

I seriously doubt that... or it would be a local association rule, so only for the hongkong hockey. I can assure you the FIH rules apply to every stick you want to use in matches, wether you rebended it yourself or not...
