The problem you got isn't so much that it looks the same, but if your unfortunate enough to get a stick which has a weakness or airbubble or is a factory second and it does break in the future you will have no recourse for a replacement stick. But that's the gamble you pay when you buy cheap stuff off ebay i guess.

Sometimes you get lucky and there is a genuine reason why something is much cheaper than it should be, but i'm always wary.

You gets what's you pays for, but if you buy it from a retailer at least if it turns out to be defective, you'll get a new one...

That said I hope it turns out to be a good one and you enjoy it!

remember to check the stiffness of your zeller, if its stiff when you push it down from the shaft then its most likely real.

I've just gone and got my (REAL) one out of the car, they have carbon reflection down the shaft, which then then fades to solid black on the head.

and mine is the same.

Yeah, it's stiff, definitely plays and feels like what it is supposed to be. Even moulded with that reduced hook width.

Thanks for checking your sticks by the way, chaps.

I would say it is more than likely that if your Zeller stick doesn't look exactly like the one posted in Olir's post as the result of a Google image search, then the likelihood is that you have a fake.
The real Zellers have a very distinct carbon pattern throughout the shaft of the stick and the head.
The fake sticks have got a poor grey spotty attempt at looking like carbon, which on SOME of the sticks doesnt extend over the head.

From those that I have seen.  Happy

I checked another person's today at a training session and again the pattern wasn't on the head. I'm yet so see any Zeller outside of 2 studio pictures that actually have the pattern over the head. The only ones I've seen in real life and in non studio pictures haven't got the pattern over the head. Even on that retailer "justhockey.au site their own pictures of the stick don't have the pattern. Testimonies from two people in this thread, once of whom claims he knows his is legit say they don't have the pattern over the head.

So if you can provide proof that the real zeller sticks have the print over the head, I'd like to see it.

Hi Olir,
I take your point. I can't prove outright factually.
But I have played with the Adidas sticks when they first launched, both in Manchester at the Euros and in the shops when they first went to retail outlets.
The carbon graphic on the shaft was very distinct, as it is on the white HS1.0.
I can only speak from my own experience of a fake Zeller stick, which unfortunately, fits the descriptions on this thread, rather than those sticks I saw on the Adidas stand and in the shops.
I am happy to email you a short video to indicate how I know my Zeller stick is a fake - if that helps?? Happy

Well if that were true I'd love to see a picture of a real one, everyone seems to have a fake. Even you?

Dont forget different countries/regions have different graphics. Apparently they even have slightly different hook designs.

It's worth remembering they are all hand painted and one batch may be slightly different to the others.

Every one i have seen is the same as mine with carbon print fading to solid balck, mine was sent straight from the distributor (long irrelevant story) so i'm 100% confident it's as it should be.

The chances are that none of these are actually fake, just a little different cosmetics!

It just comes down to my previous post about where it's purchased from and that relative guarantee.

I have no experience with adidas sticks personally. This is just going by looking at the designs sold overseas compared to sticks sold in NZ, and re the hook thats from a mate bringing a stick back from overseas and noticing it was slightly different. I didnt know adidas sticks were being sold on trademe Tongue
