Thanks for your email, the head of the stick is not covered, the picture we have is the graphics that is sent to us by addidas, will inform them that picture is different to product.

You would imagine Adidas to know what their sticks look like.  Perhaps this was a photo of a prototype or initial batch of sticks.

Its defiantly possible. My Malik sand was quite a bright orange, my friend bough one a few months later (legit seller) and it was a darker orange. Only way to really tell is to cut it open.

Alright, i finally took a couple of pictures of my real zeller stick and the fake one.

This photo shows the fake zeller that i have got. Notice the spots on the hook. And i did a stiffness test for the stick and it bends easily when i apply force on the shaft.

This, on the other hand is the real zeller. Notice that there're no spots on the hook. Similarly i did a stiffness test and it was definitely stiff as it didn't bend a lot when i use the same amount of strength or even more.

Other than the hook, both sticks look very similar, from the shiny tag, the rubber cap and the grip. It is the same. The best way to verify your sticks, i believe, is to do a stiffness check, and then the graphics on the hook.

cheers

This is a pretty poor show by adidas, I mean, making their official photos look different to their product.... Even that fake one, assuming it is trying to copy the photo by covering the head, looking nothing like the graphics on the official photo.

strangely, i realised that the graphics/paintwork on the hook of the fake zeller lasted longer than the real one. Is this the work of the spots? Or is it the work of the manufacturer, trying to cover up the truth behind the stick.

i also took off the grip, to see if there's a model number or whatever, and what i saw was an "ADIDAS" tag or something moulded on the stick. So now, is the stick a defect, or a fake?

going on these pictures, would that make the picture on page 1 a genuine stick?

I have no idea, where did you get this stick? I know only one guy who uses a zeller (real) all the time and the front graphics of his stick have disappeared pretty much.

i know a guy who uses the real one, and its the similar case whereby the graphics on the hook is pretty much gone.

I can only assume they produced both.... Two licensed suppliers I know of produce sticks with uncovered heads, however some people are adamant that they have seen covered heads on legit sticks. Unfortunately I know no contact email/number for adidas hockey, and they don't have a website yet. If anyone knows how to contact adidas they could really put this to bed.

Now I'm guessing that a genuine zeller wouldn't look like mine does after one training session?
Does anyone else have a  'zeller' stick that has blue paint under the black paint on the head?

Sorry about the link but I couldn't attach the image!

Hi Olir - where did you get it from? UK or mainland Europe? There are numbers for Adidas Hockey, but I need to know to give you the right one!
