No I didn't go to NZ as I was too young when that team was selected in '07 as are a couple of other players in the currently selected team.  Some of the team from NZ are not going as they didn't attend Darwin, that is correct.  e.g. Shane Gesch, Ash Grummet.  But I think you'll find that most of the team is pretty similiar.  But I think that you'll find it as a pretty decent side.

They were a pretty good side in Hamilton, too good for us though amazing that a team is picked so far out, around 18 months. Ours won't be picked untill after our Nationals in March.

Yeah, it's a bit odd, but I guess we'll have a couple of camps to get a bit organised and also it gives a chance for everyone to get there financially.  The women have just had their nationals and teams have been selected as well.

Hi Guys,
If any of your teams are light on numbers I can probably round up a few players from down here in WA.
I have a number of friends  (mainly in the 45s, 50s and 55s age groups) wanting to travel to HK and are looking for a team.

Let me know if this is of interest.

Hi Feral

Making some progress with the 40+ but the 50+ isn't looking promising. There have been discussions with both Wales and Scotland regarding a joint venture for this age group but the numbers just don't seem to be there.

Did you make it to Darwin?

I made it to Darwin and had a great time.
My team the WA +50 came a close second to NSW going down 1 - 0.

I can probably get some players from WA to come to HK.
So if you have a need just let me know.

Just out of curiosity - have Australian Vets announced their mens over 40 squad selection for Hong Kong in October? I can't see it on any of the websites.

Yes the Australian 40's team has been picked and you are correct, it has not been posted on the AHA site yet.
