With most clubs starting back to full time training in the next week. I was wondering who the Irish members of the forum feel will win the very first All IRELAND LEAGUE in this format.
This will be an interesting year with some clubs bringing in foreign players to boost their squads.

Grumpy

Put Garvey down because some fo the Sullivan people from a couple of years back are currently playing for them!  back when we were in the Final of the Burney cup

What teams are you including, are you only listing premiership teams?

I think the favourites are Pembroke, Three Rock Rovers, followed by Glennane and Cooksown and Annadale.
The teams that the other clubs will worry about are Cork Harlequins and Cork C of I, they are always capable of winning.
it will be a good year i hope.

I think cookstown might get it this year. They seem to have a very strong team. But I don't know what the other teams from the south are like so can't really comment on them.
Though the club firsts are playing Fingal on the 23rd so that shall be an intresting match to go see.

With only a few weeks to go to the new format for the All Ireland League. The word on the street so to speak is that in Ulster Cookstown and Banbridge will be the teams to beat, and in Leinster their big three, Pembroke W, Glenanne and Three Rock Rovers(Also sponsored by Tempest) will be the teams battling it out. The other clubs involved are just making up the numbers. What do all the Irish members think, is this what you think is going to happen?

It would be really nice to see an Ulster team win it, but I think Pembroke are going to be hard to beat tbh.

What does everyone think of Garveys chances?

Results Week 1
Instonians 1 vs 1 Cookstown
Pembroke Wanderers  2 vs  1 Cork Harlequins
Annadale vs Glenanne (Jordanstown, Sunday, 2.30pm)
Banbridge 2 vs 0 Lisnagarvey
Cork C of I 6 vs 2 Fingal
Three Rock Rovers 4 vs 2 Monkstown

Still waiting the Annadale match result but a very interesting set of score lines.
Pembroke though held in a very tightly fought match to a 2-1 victory must remain favourites with their very powerful squad. Plus having the additional training that a lot of their squad get from being involved in the Irish Senior Set up. The players added exerience as well as their coaches will be a huge adavantage having played and coached in many high pressure matches over the past few seasons.
