I suppose as I have played with my brothers Blue Steel and my own Tour and 1.3LTI I should be able to provide some assistance here...

I think the tour and the blue steel feel pretty much identical, the main difference being the extended grip section of the tour, and it does feel a bit more solid.

In terms of the new TK range, well, their new range is just that, a totally new range. I have only played with the 1.3LTI as I wanted a light stick for when I play on the wings, I tried it and loved it so got one.

So, your question "new tkrange 2oo8 or gryphon tour or taboo", which I will translate as "if I offered you a tour and a taboo or the new tk range for 2008, which would you take"... well I would take the entire TK range as there is bound to be far more variation, and in general TK's feel more solid (less "hollow") to me.

I'm possibly a bit partial as I am sponsored by Gryphon.  Needless to say, I have used in the past the Amber, Hansel and currently use the 2008 Blue Steel.  All have been fantastic sticks,  In fact the stick I like the most was the 2006 amber.  I have tried the TK's over the years but didn't really get any vibe from them.

Another option that you may like to consider is Atlas.  They are getting great reviews here in Australia and I may swap to them myself.  They are also used by Dean Butler (former Kookaburra and olympian) and also Des Abott (current kookaburra just went to Beijing).

Neither for me I'd say there's a whole host of sticks on the market I'd choose before these.

It all comes down to what you as an individual look for in a hockey stick

persoally i would choose one of the grays sticks as a whole i think grays r the best make for me

i also think that getting a stick also depends on where u play and what sort of stick r u looking for

I have had a TK before but never a Gryphon. I would say the TK's are a bit bulky and heavier than other makes. I have used a few Gryphons and love them if you go for the Tour I'm sure you'll have no regrets

I would disagree with this, I find that TK sticks are often lighter than other brands within the same weight categories.  Any of the designs with the control wing tend to be slim also.  Having said that, some of the older models, (fat slapper and TK1 deviator spring to mind) are of substantial build.

The tk I had last year was lighter than my current malik (both lights), they are hardly chunky as well  Lol

I have both a 2008 Gryphon Blue Steel and a 2008 TK 1.5 GTS. Both sticks have their pro's and con's. The Blue steel is a lot nicer to hit with, its nicer to trap with (if you can trap properly with it, otherwise its pretty much going to rebound a good 10m away from you) - in short IMO it has a better feel than the TK, it feels a lot more solid in sturdy.

The TK I like to use for drag-flicking, the bow is more ideal for flicking than the gryphon. I also seem to be able to perform technical skills a lot eaiser with this stick, the stick doesn't feel as bulky as the Blue steel - I also find squeezing the ball a lot eaiser with this stick, it feels like it has more flex than the gryphon, so you can get quite a bit out of height out of the ball without it shooting away from you.

If I had to choose, I think I'd take the Blue Steel.

I really liked my old tk cx 1.0 plus, tried a gryphon taboo magnum the other day and felt really nice.
I would say go try both brands and the sticks in the brands Happy

Had bad experiences with TK sticks... too many times i or my friends have got TKs with manufacturing issues. not to mention my friend who played one game and had almost no fibreglass left n the shaft of her brand new TK...

I LOVE my gryphons. currently using a Gryphon Taboo Magnum. When I have a bit more money in the bank and a bit more skill up my sleeve I might just invest in a Gryphon Tour...

TK all the way for me.  A rather contentious item though, as it very much depends on how you play.  I just don't like the feel of gryphon sticks, and prefer the way that the TK just sits in your hand and feels like your arm has been extended (best way I could put that sorry)
