So folks... the coming season... what does everybody think?

I reckon Inverleith could spring a few surprises... but that's just my opinion!

A bit concern that we had gone back in time or press the fast forward button to 80/09. Lol

I think Western might make give Kelburn a run for their money this season - hopefully another close-run like last year!

Haggis - are you playing for Stepps 1s on sat? I believe we are playing you in a pre-season friendly!

Western will cerftainly be up there with Moodie likely to be back playing regularly now.

Kelburne are loosing Niall and of course their coach so you never know how that can affect a team.

Waverley for the cup  Lol

Not just Niall - Ralph is off to Klein Zwitzerland and the Australian guy they had playing for them is away back to Aus again... so quite a few personal changes for them!

Excellent Haggis!! Shall be looking forward to scoring against you  Lol (or not as is most likely!). Will be good to at least get a proper game to get some sharpness - training just can't replicate it!! Hopefully we'll at least manage to create some work for you!  Yes

As for Niall, I believe he is away to a German side. Can't remember the name off the top of my head.

Ok haggis... I think the bragging rights are yours after that game.... a bit embarising for us  Sad

Hopefully we'll give you a better game in the league (when we have a proper team... not 7 2nd and 3rd XI players on the pitch!!).

That was some stop on the line from your defender off my drag-flick!! Unfortunatly it put a dent in my car Sad
Not a good day!!

hey,  i definitely wont be bragging, after last years similar score v Grange i know exactly how you feel!

not good about the car... thankfully when it hit my window it didn't do any damage! yeh I actually was going off at him after the game for that... it was a decent stop, yes, but i'm 99.9999% sure i had it with my glove and after a few deflections from him last year, he is meant to cover behind my glove... NOT in front!  Angry so we had a few 'words' about it... (dosn't help he's actually my boss during the week!) especially after goal difference being so important last season!

it's a shame you couldn't get a full team out, i'd say we were missing 4/5 as well (actually for periods my whole back line went awol during the game as well Growl), but with having run a 1st XI 'squad' of 20 last season, all our guys had played at least 1 game for the 1's in the last year.

What about your teams goal... Attention???Attention??? Sorry
i had a shocker!! first i didn't just let the ball roll over the baseline, then i passed it to our weakest defender, then i switched off and got totally out of position and to cap it all off i got lobbed... i think i might not hear the and of it for a while...  Baffled

Yeah, the goal was interesting, if it's any conselation - the guy has played for Pakistan (although about a million years ago!!). He probably won't make our team due to fitness/mobility, but the guy has some skills!! Wouldn't blame yourself too much, you didn't exactly have much to do so keeping your concentration couldn't have been easy! And anyway, your defender really should have dealt with it - he had plenty time!!! However, if you were playing with us you certainly wouldn't ever hear the end of it!!  Tongue

I dunno whether you had the flick with your glove, I personally thought it had already beaten you when he got it - but if he was infront of you then maybe not! Wasn't one of my better efforts anyway, not quite wide or high enough but without the regular stopping/injecting team its a bit difficult! The dent's not too bad, just a minor dent.. just a bit annoying, especially after such a bad game  Growl

Most of that team won't make the squad for the first game - there were 3 1st XI starters, but we mostly played out of position in an attempt to strengthen the team a bit, I'm not normally a right-winger!!! With the rest of the guys back we should be able to give you a much better game!!

That was me claiming for a PF as well btw, incase you didn't figure that one out! (A hopeful shout i'll admit, was surprised to hear your umpire telling me he was giving it until our manager said he wanted the short instead!!)

yeh, our ump said after the game that he'd have given a pf... i thought that my left back hade made a reasonable attempt to get out of the way of the ball, and i was by no means out of the equation (imo), so to say he stopped a goal, or that it was deliberate, i thought would have been harsh. (anyway - i'd have saved any flick Tongue)

on the one where i palmed it away our ump also said it would have been a pf in his D... my argument was that i can play the ball with my hands in any "goal saving action" and that ino getting the ball out of the D at any time (especially when there are attackers nearby) is a "goal saving action." i admit that it's a rather 'goalies-union' view of the rules.. but if i'd left it alone and one of your guys got the ball and scored it would have been a goal - so by palming it away i saved a goal... no? Lol

yeh, somehow the defender in question seems to have forgotten his part in the goal! but hey - if all they can slag me about is that, then i'm happy!
