Personally, I think it will not work unless it can be made into a poll question and the reason why the candidate has been nominated.
A lot of the time, you were unsure who the person was because he/she never posted in your main categories.

Hope that makes sense.

When I saw the list of nominees and didn't know what they'd done, I'd simply go to their profile and check their posts for that month and evaluate for myself.

Of course, that takes time and effort, and on average only about 30 people out of 2,000 members would vote - never mind, how many of those 30 people went through that kind of trouble?

I think the time for MOTM has passed.
