Ok I think this is sort of an advert thread but who knows.

Maybe we should keep this to people who manage maintain their club sites so we can exchange ideas etc?

So here are the ones I maintain:

Thirsk Hockey Club  Rolleyes

and

City of Peterborough Ladies Hockey Club  Yes

(See Steve I used the tag this time)

Feel frre to move this wherever it should go.  Ooh

So go ahead add yours and lets erm discuss ideas or pick my brain.....keep it to HTML, PHP, MySQL, or a bit of AJAX or XML.

The Planet through a 3rd party (who I know have a tendancy to oversubscribe...).  I know it has it's moments, but in general it's OK (nothing more than that).  In this day and age cost is a primary concern and as our club isn't the most technically minded - of limited use to us internally... (although I am trying to push it as hard as I can).  Maybe once club members can see the benefits then they will plump for a more local, UK based, host... here's hoping... and I inherited it about 4 years ago and the hosting had already been paid for...  Wink

I noticed that last-night, I think the latest update for FF has done something to it. No matter its moving over to the same system as CoP as soon as the Beta is finsihed. I use FF myself but as its still a minority and I'm REALLY busy I'm going to leave it if it takes more than a minute to fix Lol

Ours is on the Moon  Rofl

It would be cheaper to host if it was PHP and not ASP. Club members are the worst, they ask for things but never use them or complain they don't have something (like a site) but they actually do have it they just don't bother to listen when you say its there...

20% of my visitors are Firefox... so i don't call it completely minor.

www.maitlandhockeyclub.org.au is mine

Wordpress is good when you want to not have to teach anyone html but the guy who writes the content for the site is old enough to me my father (actually his son is my age).  If he would only stop uploading the draw in excel format i wouldn't get so upset.

The other local clubs use joomla also good as it allows mutli-users to update the site.

I said it was a minority not minor, its a great browser I use it as my main browser but compared to IE it is still the least used by some margin.

Really Firefox is huge and by far not a minority more and more people are moving over to it I use atleast 6 different browsers at work when creating sites, the last stats I looked at it went:

1. IE
2. Firefox
3. Safari (now it counts on PC and Mac)
4. Others like google chrome etc!

never dismiss a browser it will come back to bite you in the ass! (Has done to me before!)

oh yer my site is joomla and is at http://www.thurrockhockey.com

Your taking what I said out of context....

I USE 5 different browsers. FIREFOX is my main browser but:

REAL stats from NE14HOCKEY over the past Year (Visits):

1.    Internet Explorer   16,100    80.98%
2.    Firefox                   3,036    15.27%
3.    Safari                   303            1.52%
4.    Mozilla                   224            1.13%
5.    Opera                          197            0.99%
6.    Chrome                     5            0.03%
7.    Camino                        4            0.02%
8.    Netscape                   4            0.02%
9.    HTCS620-Mozilla          2            0.01%
10.    Konqueror                    2            0.01%

It maybe at 15% but compared to 80% its still the largest MINORITY. Therefor I was not going to spend a lot of time fixing a design fault on a design I'll be changing next week. I LOVE FIREFOX  Rofl and I didn't dismiss the browser just the bug on my desgin in FIREFOX.

Its always funny how stats different between different companies doing it, isn't it my stats where totally different Lol

I'll dig them out for you show how bad they differ Lol

Yer the reason that IE is ahead is that its pre-installed on your PC but I also prefer Firefox and sometimes Safari hahaha
