Can I just say how much I hate Halloween?   Frown

Around here it seems to be an excuse for surly teenagers in crap fancy dress to knock on your door, slur "Trick or treat?" at you and then make a grab for as many sweets/chocolates as they can get their hands on before slouching off without even saying thank you.

Bah humbug (on the absence of any other Halloween-related cliché)!

Hahaha, although I am not really a huge fan of American cultures being adopted by the UK, we have plenty of our own we don't embrace enough IMHO, I do enjoy a bit of Hallowe'en action, when it does involve the purist little'uns.
Only 20 minutes ago, about 50% of our stash of sweets was swiped by a bunch of little tikes, for scant effort other than three words on my opening the door, but you know what, they were polite, all said thank you and all wished me a happy Hallowe'en (whatever that means) as they left, and their parents, on the driveway, thanked me too.
To lose 3 quids worth of sweets like that, isn't such a bad thing.

Incidentally, I wonder how many dentists ensure their next year's work by being overtly generous on Hallowe'en nights....?

Nah. That's not even that gross, and definitely isn't funny.

Funny would be cutting out a white posterboard nearly your size, taping it to your back and going as "On The Rag." Or walking around with a big red ball under your arm and going as "Got My Period." You and a friend could go identically dressed except one of you stuffs clothing around your waist, puts on mascara that's run down your face, carries a tub of Ben & Jerry's with a spoon in one hand and a DVD copy of The Notebook in the other... guess the tagline there?

Now that's some funny stuff.

Halloween wasn't too big here this year. There wern't many fireworks (you would expect that since they are illegal here without a licence which cost over £100) just a few trick or treaters (<10)

But the school pre-formal was a dress up event. That was good times. Kinda messey though  Tongue

Agree with redumpire, cannot have this American imported festival.

Where I live in North Manchester basically, you don't get anyone calling, well they do downstairs but I live up 3 floors of stairs, on the outside of the building before you get to the porch.......

not even the post man comes up because it is so steep and causes some people to be scared of going back down...... Growl

Aww, I had great fun.  Handed out candy, drank too much, many different house parties ran into a million friends, and on and on.
