Looks a little bit like taekwondo armour to me Lol! it wouldnt suprise me if big brands do start infiltrating hockey after nike did by buying out bauer, maybe addidas have taken over a parent company of one of main hockey brands and started pushing their name through. Just a thought! Confused

It does look like a martial arts chest pad. Not sure how it ended up on hockey factory shop. I thought we had moved away from one large piece of padding to smaller ones that allow you to move.  Rolleyes

Definitely a marshall arts/boxing chest pad.

The "instructor" name is a bit of a give away!

I wouldn't think so. Not designed for ball impact. Could see the leather splitting with all the moisture etc as well.

Yup.
I wonder if fieldhockey factory use the products they sell. I mean some of the keeper stuff wouldn't be used by the most mad of us on the forum. All the ice hockey (i presume its ice hockey) sholders and arms. I mean come on most of us like to have some core protection

Chest pad is probably designed for umpires, but it's a pretty stupid place to put it in the goalkeeper's section Ooh! No way would it stand up to full-on shots - think it's to be worn by national/international umps who like to get close to the action to call the play and see the ball (ie stand just outside the goal on p/corners), with added protection just in case. That way they don't have to jump out the way!

Here you go

http://www.prosportuk.com/detail/10/35/3390

it's a chest guard for a boxing instructor to wear.

quite what Hockey Factory Shop are thinking trying to sell it as a field hockey chest pad I don't know!
