Having see all these new Grays Jumbows with crazy low bends, I thought I'd try out one. The amount of air you can get on aerials is amazing, but I didn't think that it would suit the rest of my game to buy/use one. I decided to buy a 2nd hand Malik Limited Edition which has quite a modest bend.

I was wondering whether it is still possible to get the great distance and height on aerials (and drag flicks to an extent) with a stick that doesn't have a very pronounced bend and what techniques I should concentrate on when throwing them?

ofcourse its possible its the player that makes the stick not the stick that makes the player, the best players could probably still show off some amazing skills with a walking cane

smorris it depends on how good your flicks are to begin with. i.e. can you hardly overhead at all or can you already flick around 30 yards and just want the extra distance?

if you cant flick at all then the big emphasis would be on getting the ball in front of your body and working on your lifting motion. if you can already throw a decent overhead then i would start concentrating on using your legs for power and working on your body rotation, if you can get the body rotation right then you should be able to throw as far if not further than you can with a big bow

I dont care who you are, what you are rebeblling against or why. Just pull your jeans above your groin or i will staple them to it

practice practice practice

me and my mate go down the local astro about three time a week and each day we spen 1/3 of our time doing aerials, 1/3 doing DFs and 1/3 doing 1 on 1s. Just get a mate go down to your pitch and chuck aerials at each other. Over time your muscles will get more powerful and you'll get a better technique = further aerials

hope this helps.
