I'm not involved in the boys - I'm a glutton for punishment sometimes but occasionally I know when to say no. But I might be a t Peffermill on Sunday for an indoor umpiring thingy so maybe see you on Sunday anyway. Have fun with your umpiring and remember just to tie your laces at the right time!

Maybe see you there Fluff. I'll be looking frazzled somewhere in the background making cups of tea, whilst similtaneously holding a clipboard and trying to look important. I will probably fail miserably at all of the above except looking frazzled.

I must have missed my cup of tea  Wink  mind you it is a long way from the clubhouse to pitch 2  Lol

I was one of the East reps on the Technical table.

A well run tournamount overall. The gap between the districts was in no way as wide as I expected and although East and West dominated, the North and South U-18 teams acquitted themselves well also. If there was any disappointment it would have been in Midlands who did not perform as I reckon they shoud have.

U-16s also not totally one-sided either and the match between East and Highland was effectively decided by East finding some Penalty Corner form in the second half.

I also thought PC form would be decisive in the U-18 East v West decider. A it happened, the West's PC routine wasn't effective when called upon to do its job and I think that was the difference between 2 well-matched teams.

The educational inequalities in Scotland unfortunately are still embeded within the girls game and it will take some time to put this right. The roll call of independent school reps in all the District squads was a sad indictment of the collapse in extra curricular involvement and effectiveness in the State sector in Scotland.
