Personally, I think it should run but then since I have never won it, it never bother me that much, I tried to vote whenever I could.

What is your decision, please vote and that way if we can get at least a 25% turnout it would be a decision by the whole of the forum.

You work it out normally that 1 in 4 people would take part in any election, therefore 25%. So we have 2210 registered members, (25% of that would be 552.5 members) . Then being really annoying I am only expecting 25% of them to actually partake and vote, so around 138.125 and that would be absolutely amazing if that actually happen.

But then a gain, I( probably gone over the top because I am actually thinking more like 25 would actually take part.

I always voted, and nominated a few people now and again!

Do we really need MOTM if we have rep points?

Do we really need either rep points or motm.
Really a waste of time when you consider the number of members that the forum has and the actual number that really post. The winner will nearly always come from this group and Hockeyaddict was the last newcomer to win.
If you look at the forum, it has a hard core that post and have opinions.
The most dominant ones of this group have most of the rep points.
Though the ones i respect the most are are hockeyjohn, redumpire and spikey. Plus bulsara and his unassuming honesty is worth a read.
Sorry went of topic but we do not need either.

Every one is entitled to their opinion and I thought that this would give them that chance to say something including those who are the newbies and may be did not know what happens.

The rep points are deceiving in my view.

I can change the poll so that you have the ability to change your vote if needeed. The MOTM choices probably came from the more setablished members because they are the ones who always voted and there were a few months when they were magically decided (voting choices). I never considerd it a waste of time as people would email me and ask when it was going to be, not to memtion when Steve was the only admin on the forum, we the forum members decided to keep it running! that meant that I had to add the rep points 1 at a time (fun).

I'm more than happy to let the forum vote and abide by the outcome.

On rep points the most dominant as you put it Grumpy also has a swag of negatives. If you read the notice that Steve made for the MOTM and it has not changed since the first vote, it is the members WHO nominate to decide who has helped them or the forum.

The rep points are deceiving in my view.

Tell me about it! I've bought every one I've ever been awarded. Expensive, and yet the immense prestige it gives me is so well worth it. Took out a second mortgage to get the "FHF Special Person" title!
