Keely, did you have scorn flakes for breakfast today?!

I tend to use the phrase "I'm wearing my cranky pants", but I like that one too.

Combine some nastiness elsewhere on the forum and me feeling really homesick ATM, and I'm behaving badly. Sorry everyone.  Sorry

I am also the umpire who solved a problem by kicking the ball into the goal,

deegum I bet you havent:
upgraded a PC to A PS because a player threw atemper at being awarded a PC?
given a goal after it was hit from an attacker outside the circle and hits a defenders stick in the circle that went in the goal.
given three consecutive 10 yard  marches for three different players yapping at the mouth.

Im sure we have all done some funny crazy umpiring mistakes....its how you move on that makes it work.

mine are coming out ina  new movie shortly.

Just to put a spanner in the works, why is the defender using their foot to breakdown play that much different from the attacking player putting the ball on the defenders foot on purpose? It achieves exactly the same effect!? The later is harder to call for an umpire but it happens so often! It is still illegal to purposefully put the ball onto a players foot insn't it?  Confused

yes Ibiff.

unfortunatley not many umpires call it.

In our league im probablly part of a few umpires that can and do call it, the rest call it against the defence. That confuses the coaches and players and when it is called they freak out.

its a hard call...its definatly not something you want to 50/50 about. but I havent given a yellow for an offence.

Well foozbear as a defender i wish u umpired sum of my match's! The only time i've seen an umpire call it was when he had alot of experience with the player in question, however i suppose the umpire shouldn't really have been jaded by previous experience's of the player? As u say u hav to be very sure of the call, but it is amusing when u see an attacker fuming at being caught! Lol

yup...they dont like that.

one experience I had with a team I am now never umpiring again.....

he runs into the circle...beats a player then runs towards a player that is closer to the sideline then he is and then tries to push it onto a foot.

so blatant it wasnt funny......I called it against hima nd coped abuse from the coach...and the player..and any other member that was near me.

unluckily it was the last play of the game and they needed to corner....so it meant being near them so close after the incident.

Where can I find this story? XD it sounds interesting

I've also seen an Umpire (a new one for the record, and not me) award a long corner, then realise they called the wrong team and have the defenders take it from the long corner spot  Confused

Anyone else ever had to award eleven (yes, I counted) PCs in a row?
