I know these have been featured on FHF before (just do a seach on cd5000 for previous threads) but for those of you who want a new toy for Xmas (and have more money than sense!!), see the links below.

Shame they both seem to only be 35.5" but still, might be a laugh on tour!

Brine cd5000 #1.

Brine cd5000 #2.

Important note: I'd like to make it absolutely clear that I am in no way associated with this ebay seller or these items. I am only bring them to the attention of the FHF members. In no way can i vouch for the seller or the items being offered. Hope thats clear. Glossevans

I think that guy has a fair stock of them - they have been listed for a few weeks, so you may not need to be as quick as you think.
Plus...seriously?? For the one, half-drunken 20-minute game you have on tour you would be together enough to try and drag-flick with one of those?? Surely that money's better spent on another jug of nasty?  Wink

Just out of interest what is the specific rule that makes it illegal?

I'm not doubting it is illegal I'd just like to know because I'm a rule-geek!  Tongue

Field and Equipment Specs

2.1 The stick :
a the stick has a traditional shape which will be retained
b no particular handle or head shape or design has been approved, but the introduction of extreme shapes or designs outside the specified parameters will not be permitted.

Also, if I remember correctly it was specifically mentioned at the time by the FIH as being illegal.

Could be useful for keeper training. They look a lot like those prototypes that someone had shown the forum a wee while back for the production of a stick that obo were looking to make to train keepers to respond to dragflicks

This stick actually made it onto the EHL news pages back in 2005 where it was specifically identified as being illegal - see link below.

Brine CD5000 EHL News article.

Unfortunately, the link to the photo in the news item no longer works.

But as has already been said, is anyone going to be that bother in a mess-about tour game?
