I wasn't really a hockey person until this season when I got pulled up to Varsity, and I've decided to try out for some local indoor travel teams next season instead of palying softball. I've talked to a few teammates from school who play for the one team I'm planning to try, and they've all said I'd most likely make it. But one main reason for my uncertainty is that I've never played indoor before, and going in as a tenth-grader with no previous experience probably isn't the best thing I could do. So...how is the game different from outdoor? I've heard it's a lot faster, but other than that? What can I do this off-season to prepare myself for the tryouts? I know they're a long way off, but still...

You need FITNESS!
Speed, agility, fast mind.

Strong throat and of course active play - you need to be the SW of the team - while playing 2-1-2 you must be covering all the D especially the top of D and your right area for long board passes to the FW.

Run for 1st ball on PCs and if you get opportunity even exit D to play the ball if you have nobody around to help you

no first think you need is to learn to play on a different surface,

I just had my first season on indoor and basketball courts stick quickly to your pads.. so sliding doesn't happen.

The solution I've found is Lycra, so see if you can find some sliders for your pads, or find someone who can sow to make you lycra cases for your leg guards

Who sells it?
But yeah...I found that one out quickly one day in September when we had to practice in the gym since it was pouring...I kind of went to dive but fell at the same time, landed on my left arm, my shoulder popped, and it hasn't been normal since.

You missed the very small me at the end of rushmans name.

Are they listed on your website ?? rushman because i didn't know they existed until 5 games into my indoor season i started to talk to the other keepers.

(I'lll probably get my mother to make me some as the sliders cost $35 AUD a pair and lyrca is $8-10 a meter through Mr Rudd does want me to put money into they economy Tongue

Not on the website, but if you send a message via the website we can sort you out with some.  Hit the link on the left hand side of the screen.

I have heard of pillow cases being used if you really want to save your bucks !
