The time to celebrate is after the game.  Bragging rights only go to the winners.

For 70 minutes of game time .... "STOP THE BALL FROM GOING IN THE NET"

Here endeth the leason  Wink

Harsh, Rushman, Harsh, We only won one game this season with my vets team in Brisbane. At the end of it we were too stuffed to celebrate!

i dont celebrate much, not noticibly anyway but after a good save i always smile to myself and say yes but not really loud enough for anyone to hear that isnt close.

i think its extemely important (for most people) during a game to keep a positive attitude, yelling at eachother, or the coach yelling at a player doesnt help much since the atmosphere is already so tense. in practice it can help to be harsh it keeps you focused and pushes everyone to try harder. but in a game being yelled at for most people is just frustrating. as a gk, i think its especialy important to keep positive, even if im having a really poor game, if i let through that im really frustrated the defence loses some confidence.

I rarely celebrate after a save. The only time I really think I celebrate after a save is after a penalty stroke. I usually do a mini double fist pump and grip my stick way too hard. Lol

at the end of the day I guess if we all wanted to be show boating, celebrating ego maniacs, we'd have been strikers!  Wink

I used to celebrate and made a meal out of it, reason for this, I was happy I managed to get the ball and play it safely away for my defenders/midfielders to get rid of it, then One day, a member of the opposition did not like it and told me so with his stick.

Well, both of us spent some time on the bench for a couple of weeks, but then when young temper and ego does not go together....... Angry

Where were those a few weeks ago? Could have used a bit of that with all the stick I was getting from the players, you know!

My bad... was too full of the previous night's gorgeous Thai food to risk shaking anything...  Wink

On the subject of GKs celebrating saves, in today's match we were 3-2 up with 5min. left and facing a PC. It was switched to my left past our runner, a big shot came in - firm left pad kept it out. The rebound was retrieved and switched from wide, to top D, to deep right in a very smooth, quick transition. I followed it across, spread to block the shot and kept it out with my left shoulder. That rebound went to our right back... ball up the line to right mid, ball to our forward, great finish... 4-2, game over.
I celebrated that big time. Not just a really pleasing double save, but then for it to lead straight to a breakaway goal that sealed the match. Very satisfying.
