I use an OPRO gold, bought from sports direct, the cheapest price I have ever seen them for. Not sure if there is really much value in having the gold over the silver version though?

Found it to be a good gumshield, marginally more comforatble than the Shockdoctor I used to get on well with (the green and black multi durometer one (V1.5?)

I've been using an OPRO gold, very good mouthguard IMO. I had a Shockdoctor a few years ago which saved me my teeth - it was the blue gel in the black durometer if anyone knows, highly recommended.

I wear one custom-made by my dentist. It's way more comfortable than those I tried before.  I'm a goalie and he also suggested I get it to fit on my bottom teeth so I could scream at my defenders more clearly.  Growl  I like that.

It cost me either US$40 or $60 to get a mold and 2 mouthguards (I forget which). and then I found out some dentists in town are even less expensive. Very worthwhile.

I am on my third Opro home-fitted gumshield. I totally swear by them, the fit is superb (I had a dentist fitted guard before that)
When I visited my dentist last year (oops, overdue) and showed him, he said it would have cost over £100 to get that custom made through him, so for less than £40 it was a bargain - especially given how much new teeth cost these days.

I actually can't stand to play without one, if I am on the pitch and realise I have forgotten my gumshield I literally lose my concentration - when one of your best friends had his two front teeth knocked out (or in, in his instance) you get quite wary of 1) not wanting to fork out £2,000 in dentistry and 2) not wanting odd looking white 'Simon Cowell' veneers.
As a result I also always keep a Shock Doctor guard (the one with the gel innards that set) in the stick bag, in case I have left the Opro in the bathroom after cleaning.
If I could afford it, I would have two Opros in an ideal world...

I had a one made by my dentist a while ago but it no longer fitted my mouth as my teeth have moved. I rang him up he said I can make you a new one, or you can stick this one in boiling water for a minute put it in your mouth and bite. His second option worked perfectly !
