I myself use a Malik VIP Deluxe, and have used mercian and Stag sticks in the past.
ANother keeper at the club (involved in Belgian U16 squad as well) uses a Mercian Air, and our Junior side keeper uses a Brabo something.

I use a kookaburra ultralight hydrogen, i do like this stick a fair bit, as i get the power of the standard outfield stick but with a lighter feel.

If people like the feel of a goalie stick but dont like the square handle the kookaburra resist has a round handle and i much prefered it to my wasp gk stick.

The kookabura ultralights are fairly nice. Seasons just over, and my skinny thing will just about make it through the provincial trials in the summer. And considering I don't have matches until I've trained for about 3 weeks, I may try out some outfield sticks other players have around. I find them more practical in the situations when you need the ball out of the D quick, but a keeper stick is simply lighter, and easier to get to the ball. So I'm gonna need something thats light enough. Another plus point would of course being able to use a stick to hit about with while waiting for lifts etc.

To be honest I'd rather wait. The only real hockey I'm going to be playing over the summer is provincial trials, where I'm not looking to experiment too much, with the exclusion of wanting to try a set of OBO knee guards, should I get them. And I've never really been a fan of buying a stick rather go to the retailer, as ever stick differs ever so slightly.

Well i use a Mazon Black Magic goalie stick and i have used a Gryphon Taboo Magnum and i like the taboo for clearing because u cant get much force into the ball from a think goalie stick

Using OBO HC RHP = GK stick (OBO Skinny or old Brabo GK)
Using OBO SP RHP = outfield stick (Brabo, mid range, medium weight, 25mm bow and mid-balance)

The SP RHP restricts wrist movement so making clearances is easier with the outfield stick.  Happy

Curiosity got the better of me, so I've tried an outfield stick as well as my Fatboy.

Went for a Mercian Burn CB2 in medium weight. Works quite well, I find I can play with a longer stick as it feels more natural holding higher up the stick than with the Fatboy (which I tend to hold near the bottom of the grip/top of shaft).

i found that all my goalie sticks kept breaking and were too light so to experiment i cut 2" off my old malik lime and put a thick grip on exactly where i wanted it and its working great esp with my robo hc glove when im going for 1 on 1s making clearances with it etc Happy

My team tends to press quite high which leaves a gap at the back. I stand at the top of the D to shout at people and to generally mop up any long balls that could be chased and kept in or aerials that go over the defenders. I found with the GK stick that it was hard to get a huge amount of power with one hand and with the shape of the shaft.

Now i get completely predictable clearances from it and with the addd bonus of harder and more predictable rebounds from sticks saves and penalty corners etc.
that's a much better reason than mine. used a znake composite, which cracked in half after a particularly fierce shot. couldn't afford a new stick, and my sister had just got sponsored, so i took her old stick (mercian hammerhead - about 3 years old) and have used it ever since Lol

I was torn between a straight Hammerhead (CB1) and the slightly curvy Burn (CB2). Ended up with the latter, but when I watched Reading play recently James Fair was using a Hammerhead (what weight or shaft bend I couldn't say though  Lol)

I play with the kookaburra cuba in nets. Its quite a heavy stick I have been told by a few guys in my team. Still though, the weight makes me feel better when I'm on the ground using my stick
