Anyone know where i could get my existing helmet painted or know what sort of paint i'd have to use to do it myself? (i am a bit of an amateur artist) I'd really love an exciting custom painted hemet and i know OBO do them but i can't really afford to buy a new helmet just yet  Sad

This topic has been covered before. If you use hthe search tool you should find some posts on it.

Andy and several others have had their helmets done so you should be able to get some answers.

Beware of the angry 'You should have searched' posts that follow Happy

If you'd like to do it yourself, pm Animal about what sorts of paint are ok to us.  He's an expert.

some people use normal electrical tape instead of paint and it looks awesome! check out Roadkill33's post -

I'm considering doing mine over the summer! Was looking on some galleries for the most basic design i could do which fitted in nicely with my colours would be a red bull themed one. Silver and blue like a can, with the red bull logo on. It's very simple, and i have found plasti-kote spray paints which seem like they will do the job nicely. A couple of people have mentioned that sanding it is essential before I start painting, the alternative is use a primer. Sanding seems easier option to me because I couldn't guarantee which primers would and wouldn't melt my plastic.

I think I read off the internet that you should probably leave the plastic shell formed helmets alone. I have a carbon kevlar helmet. You have to go round VERY carefully choosing your paint for your slazenger club, because it could melt your helmet, and could reduce the protection of the helmet without you being able to notice it.
