This board has been set up to provide an opportunity for many experienced umpires to share their knowledge, observations and experience from their lifetimes of officiating, as well as a forum for umpires, players and spectators asking questions, participating in discussion and reasoned debate. Although there are many worthwhile contributions from experienced umpires, sometimes points of view are expressed that are contrary to the rules, guidance & umpiring custom & practice as generally followed by most associations around the world. If a topic is deemed to be controversial and/or potentially misleading, or just "hot", it may be moved to the SinBin as a way of ensuring that readers do not mistake such opinions as an endorsement of a particular interpretation of the rules.
