I thought as much, though we must remember that ll_coolt is a dragflicker and therefore knows all about the stick

guys the aj7 is definitely the jumbow extra, its the only one in the grays range that remains. the new 5000 jumbow in black and the 7000 jumbow are the standard jumbow bow. there is a significant difference between the bows now. you'll see when you get them both in your hands. believe me guys im obsessed with sticks and as a drag flicker im always looking for the best cheating stick

You're completely wrong, grays don't produce jumbow extra sticks anymore. You may have a GX5000 JE from last season that looks similar to the current AJ stick, but this seasons AJ stick is a Jumbow, NOT Jumbow Extra.

CORRECT. Full points go to Craggsy.
LLCoolT sounds like he got pimped a 2009 5000 JE as an AJ7...

Why dont stick manafactures just make easy to understand names??

Like sachin.

An 18mm mid bow, then 20mm mid, then 22mm mid bow, then 25mm mid bow, then 25mm late-ish (DC) bow, then 25mm drag flick.

im at a loss guys, i have held a new AJ7 in my hands and a new black 5000 jumbow. the bow is definately different. If you also read the speil in the brochure, you will see that the AJ7's bow was specailly designed with ashley and grays. this saying that ashleys fancied a couple of more years with the jumbow extra as it works for him.
I dont have any photos. to prove it so you will just  have to see for yourself. I was only looking at then new range, which the loveyl lady was kind enough to show me as it wsant realeased at the time. I dont know what more i need to say.  Baffled Baffled The AJ7 is defo a jumobw extra or a sligh and i mean slight tweak of that.

Not to mention that in an interview on the EG hockey website, Ashley Jackson states that the AJ7 is the exact same spec as the stick he used at the Beijing Olympics which i believe was a Jumbow Extra

Very strange move by Grays, offering the AJ7 only in 36.5 - Alot of dragflickers used the JE sticks, alot of Dragflickers are tall. Why stop the range and not offer anything in the 37.5 bracket?

Simple really, it is a replica of the stick which Ashley Jackson uses.

As we all know that spending a gazillion pounds on a stick with 110% carbon reinforcement and a loopybow makes you a much better player; we can theorise therefore, that poor ol' Ashley is actually a rubbish player and that it is his stick which is scoring all those goals and pinging unstoppable flicks into the top corners at international competitions.

Ergo, if you want to be a better player you should be buying that stick.  A 37.5" version is surplus to requirements as it will make you a worse player.

maybe.

nailed it john.

I was very amused at how much grays have made of his development in the stick, and ashley jackson has turned round and said 'yeah it's exactly the same stick as i was already using, cos i liked it' - so he basically told them that the special features of his stick should be that it has exactly the same features as the stick they were already selling, even the colour.

The AJ7 is a STANDARD jumbow bend.

Of course he was involved in the design - it's his signature stick. So I expect he said: "I want it like that one, in gold, with my initials and a legal curve."
THERE A NO, REPEAT NO, JUMBO EXTRA MOULDS IN THE GRAYS 2010 RANGE.

How do I know? I spoke extensively at Nottingham with both Neil from Grays - who designed the AJ7 - and with Ashley himself.
