BB - the rule as described says that if i was an attacker who went to cross the ball from outside the D, and a defender gets a touch and it goes into the goal - then its a goal!

does this include off a goalkeeper?
E.G. if an attacker hits the ball from the 25, the GK goes to kick it, and it ends up in the net, goal or not?

thats my point, does it though? it says when an attacker plays the ball within the circle, not inside, im just not so sure

i don't get the confusion...

how can an attacker be playing the ball "within" the circle if he himself is not "within" the circle

he can play it into the circle from outside... but it won't be a goal unless it touches someone else - anyone else

Like it or not... but you have to acknowledge the EHL is driving the rapid development of our rules into a more spectator friendly(?)  game, and at quite a fast pace compared to previous tinkering with our sport. Perhaps media power will evolve our game into a regular TV sport? Where do you think it will stop?? I wonder if in time we will be using both sides of the stick a bit like ice & roller hockey? Interesting times friends!

This rule will be great - easy to umpire, more goals and much more exciting around the D i.e less situations where a ball goes through everyone and is left defenders will put a stick to it because they don't want the ball tinkering near the net.

My bad, i didnt look at the full explanation on the website, as it says nothing about the attacker being outside the circle and playing it in

Hope this comes into the main rules. You won't get the attackers running off claiming it hit there stick when there a big noise of a defenders stick and vice versa.
