Champions Challenge - Cdn Men Missing

    Someone needs to explain this to me...

    FIH posted the 2009 Calendar, including the teams qualified for the various Champions tournaments (Trophy/Challenge 1 & 2).

    Canadian men are ranked 13th and thus should be included in the Challenge 1 (now 8 teams) - right? Team listed as participating: Arg (9), Bel (10), Chn (16), Ind (11), RSA (14), Pak (8), NZ (7)

    The Challenge 2 lists:

    Aut, Chi, Fra, Irl, Jpn, Mal, Pol, Rus

    Could this be a typo? Japan is listed twice, and Canada missed out completely? (God I hope FHC hasn't withdrawn us from the CC - the thought makes me sick).

    honestly that sounds like something FHC would do for money reasons ... i hope not :boring:

    I sent a note to FIH yesterday and it was indeed a typo.

    PHEW! :baffled:

    But how sad is it that the automatic assumption was that FHC pulled the plug on it?

    but the response just shows FHC's reputation.
