Well done @murph great effort! I am starting from the Blue start (Blackheath), do you know where you're off from? Due to continuing back problems I will also be walking a fair bit so I may just bump into you! I will make sure to tell my family/friends coming up to get behind you and cheer you on.

I will be on one of the St.John stations on Sunday, not sure where yet but in the nicest possible way, hope not to see you! Good luck, every step forward is a step nearer your goal, use the cheering of the crowd to keep you going!

Just broken the monotony of rest and endless hydration to check all my kit is ready to go.

Got few adjustments to make but it's all good!

Thanks to @BossFHockey and @Craggsy for their support. Also the awesome people at OBO.

Head to London tomorrow morning and will be at Lee Valley tomorrow too! IMG_20170421_151218.jpg

Best of luck. You are making a great effort for a worthy cause. Virgin site was easy to use.

Best of luck! I can't even imagine doing a marathon (Great north run was hard enough) let alone doing it in GK kit. I hope for the sake of everyone around you that you washed it!

    Hi all,

Afraid to say I only got to 17km or so.

Not only have I lost large chunks of skin from both heels ("you should stop") but my right hip and knee gave up almost in synchro.

Will do a full update later

Gutted for you mate but whatever happened you got 17k further than any other goalie today. In fact 17k more than 99% of the country, and they weren't wearing full kit!

Unlucky dude. Hope you heal up and feel better soon. You gave it a damn good go though, most people struggle without all that kit on!

Still raised a great bit of money though. Just means we'll have to have a marathon goalie kit challenge, see who can do it first!

    Great effort @murph
I can't begin to praise you enough. Top top work.
The rest of us can just about walk from one end of the pitch to the other in full kit, never mind 17k

    Well played, Murph.

I first read about the 'goalie run' in the Hockey Paper, but it was only recently that I learned it was being done by a fellow forummer. I wish you all the best for the future.
