    The OBO Odour Eater Powder is pretty effective, yes. Like you, I had a game in the miserable Mancunian rain last weekend, neglected to take my kit out during the week and it positively hummed when I got it out the bag yesterday morning.

    I doused the chest, box and shorts in the powder (which, as I understand it, is basically talc with some antibacterial stuff in it) and, while it didn't make the kit smell boxfresh by any means (if you'll pardon the expression), it certainly made it bearable. At £15 a pop, it's not cheap, but if, like me, you've a habit of leaving things until the last minute and don't have time to give your kit a proper air our/wash between games, then it's a pretty good contingency measure.

    I stumbled upon this article a while ago and have been using this method for years! I recommend this method to all the newbie keepers I meet and train and they also say it works like a bomb.
