Been on both sides of that ....still sucks though , returning player should have had to earn rather than given place

Cheers @Danjmet (GK) . When i pulled my knee again last time I said to myself if it happened again I'd take some time out and get 100% before coming back. Except this time the decision was made for me!
I'm just glad I'll still be able to play after I get all fixed up, not sure how I'd cope with no more hockey forever!

After 2 weekends of no hockey, I was a bit worried for my lot, as the younger ones get a bit complacent sometimes. Not to worry though - smashed out an 8:0 win. Didn’t play particularly well myself but enough, and had both my full backs on good form.
Now back up to 2nd in the league on goal difference (lots of points behind 1st) with a game in hand. Doing well for our first season in the league, and have the lowest conceded too

Yep, especially when there is no reason to drop someone.

Nothing I can do but do my best in the team I’m currently in and get them promoted.

Back on the pitch today - 4 weeks after the calf tear that could have been 6-8 weeks (with the physio’s blessing, I didn’t just go rogue!) and a nice 2-0 win

Few decent saves. Couple of sliced clearances because I was trying to avoid using my left foot. The confidence in the leg will come back with a few more training sessions I hope!

Today felt a million times better. First clean sheet of the season. Had a great time.

Outfield game after. Ran hard. Second goal in 2 games. Had a lot of fun.

Season hopefully starting to pick together. Be nice to put a run of form together - feel like it's about to happen.

No game as the oppo couldn't raise a team. So 6 weeks in, I've played two games. And we have a blank next week. :(

Well first (and last game) of the season, well I got more of a peppering than I've had in a long time. Well the rust instantly shook off and my body and brain worked together in harmony for the first time in what felt like forever (maybe it was losing the 11kg of weight) and kept the score to 0-0 at half time.

30 seconds in to the second half a striker released a ripper top left, to his and my amazement I pulled off the save of the year (immediately asked for a substitution as I wanted to go out on a high lol)
Our team scored a scrappy goal but hey they all count, unfortunately after about 35-36 shots I was finally beaten by a bloody pea roller that was just beyond my outstretched toes.

I got a unanimous MoTM and immediately started pestering of my wife to have me on 'loan' for Saturdays :p

    Interesting Midlands Statistic

    2015 7 red cards and 1 mmo
    2016 10 red cards and 3 mmo
2017 (so far) 21 red cards and 2 mmo!!

Agreed that some are Cat D (only 2)

Umpires being more assertive with fouls, player dissent increase or (my view) - both!

@g remind me what cat B are again?

I've seen one red, for a second yellow for the same offence.. foul knocking player to ground...basically wiping out a guy that went past him twice..

Just had a closer look at the descriptions, ouchy!

Just beating clubs up though won't be the single solution - Are games being allowed to run out of control, leading to violent situations and so on...but obviously some urgent anger management needed for others! The non-game issues were just a massive lacking of common sense!

Dunno. In the game I did with two reds it came out of the blue. Whether the two participants had ‘previous’ with each other I don’t know...

finally padded up again last night after 6 months out with a torn quad. Indoor training session. Was far less rusty that I expected and my fitness has improved hugely in my time out. no real issues from the quad during or after the session
