I'm so jealous that the 2nd half of the season has already started for most of you. According to our fixture list we have no games until the 25th February. I hope it's wrong.

The nice bruise developing above my hamstrings is telling me I'm not going to be playing much hockey for a few weeks

My game's already snowed off tomorrow.

11.30am in Buxton in January was never going to happen was it?

We managed a 1pm up there this time last year. Only fixture in our division to play. Was a pretty solid pitch but avoided a Sunday trip!

Saw that! We're playing Ramgarhia for the 42nd time since March at 1 if you need a hockey fix! Got two panel umpires though sorry!

Unlikely. Just sit at home and sulk I think. No game for me now since 16th Dec. No games lined up in the future either (although fixtures beyond the 27th have yet to be finalised)!!!

At least you didn’t draw Oundle in the Alpha/Beta fixture!!

Well I didn't have much to do again this week, just more shouting! My ladies did me proud and we won the semi final of our plate (I stopped counting after we were 6-0 up).

However.. I have another reason to be happy... The ladies had ordered new kit and without telling me they brought me a new smock and even put my name on it! I couldn't believe it... Happy in my choice to move to Melton even if our first half of the season was tough.

I've never had Man of the Match in a 5-0 win before! All the nominations were for the two central defenders and me!

A lovely 6-0 league win, followed by a tight 3-2 Mixed Cup defeat. Not too sad about that, pretty much our entire normal men's section for the mixed team was out injured, and we played a strong side that gave me plenty to do! Feeling very positive since stepping up to the second team.

Lost to our local rivals for the 7th time since June, the fourth league game this season!

3-2, played alright as a team, I did well. Cold wet and miserable by the end of it though.

Saturdays game was cancelled Friday afternoon, the snow needs to bugger off now! (on a plus note it does mean I have an extra week for the rib to heal) Means I'm going to miss the last week of the season due to holidays :(

Bit of a nightmare 2-1 loss. On the positive side, most confident and commanding I've played since last season. I think things are back on the up, just need to swing it into two or three more performances. But, as always, I'd rather I play awful and we win in spite of me, than to play well and lose.

Great that there's positives for you there. A Win should always be the ultimate team goal - but I must say, I personally enjoy games where I've played well and we've lost; more than games where I've been rubbish even if we win. I think the best bet is for me to play well and then we win every week

Vets cup match was snowed off on Sunday, so played tonight. Oppo was a very tight outfit from ‘UK Armed Forces’ which is basically the Army. We weren’t expecting to do very well, but pleasantly surprised to keep it at 1:0 to them after the first half. Second half we upped it but they still managed to score twice.
Happy with my play but think I need to work on my communication. Made a few decent saves, and managed to get some nice words from oppo players and coach. Got a unanimous MoM too.
Now to recover for league on Saturday :)

No game for me this weekend due to the dodgy hamstring. Hopefully back next week. Will be taking the Mrs across to her game in St Albans tomorrow.
