Stressful 1-0 win against a team who enjoy bending the rules, not helped by their umpire enabling them. Thankfully our umpire overruled a lot of his suspect decisions except for one short in the last 5 minutes, I've never felt my heart beat faster during a short but thankfully got a solid toe too it and then cleared it to the halfway line, other than that short and one other earlier in the game where I had to do a diving save I didn't have a lot to do thankfully.

Fortunate enough that there's a bit of pitch time available before the ladies train on a wednesday, and that our coach works at the school where we play. Usually make it quite simple - Do a lot of footwork, work on getting set, technique in terms of clearing the ball/getting up etc. Really just using it to get some more contact with the ball. It's an environment where I can work on things that aren't necessarily in game situations, and where I can focus on how I'm making saves rather than simply making sure the ball stays out of the net. I drill the basics, which I don't get to do during a normal training session, and I find it's where I actually get better as a goalkeeper in terms of saving the ball. Little cues in your head help lots.

Game frozen off today. Gives my hamstring another week to recover.

Comprehensive 4-1 home win against @LinnieBear 's club. Didn't actually have all that much to do, which makes their early goal annoying, but they did have some handy youngsters.

4-1 victory over a tough opposition. Their keeper is the best in our league by a long shot so was good to get the win !

Had a poor 4-3 loss today against 13 players... sorry meant 11 and their (questionable) umpires.
Only 2nd loss of the season for us. Missing 5 key players and only 3 playing in their normal positions... oh well... roll on next week

Yeah, I get ya. I was honestly super frustrated last week and just annoyed as I've been doing nearly everything I can to get back to hockey ASAP. However, spoke with my work physio about all the possibilities and after looking at the letter they sent me, I reckon the cancellation was them switching me over to a knee specialist after looking at my MRI results. Either way I can't play again until i'm all fully healed, which is frustrating.

As i've only been a keeper for a year and a bit, I don't feel I can adequately help coach the juniors, though there is a junior keeper in one of my club teams and their coach has asked me to help him out a bit, so might get in touch and see if he wants me to pop along and help out at their training or such. Not long left of the season but might keep me busy and engaged over the summer as well.

Weird 6-1 win. I don't wish to speak ill of the opposition, but they were quite poor and it made the way we played very disappointing. I think we had about 10 nice plays the entire game, and scored or got a good chance from each of them. Otherwise we dribbled up our own noses or turned the ball over and were just all round a little kack. Also gave up about 6 chances, which was disappointing. League is likely to come down to goal difference, and first is a big carrot in the promotion chase, so when you have a chance to put a team to the sword you need to take it - or at the very least keep doing to right thing even if you slow down a little.

On the plus side, I was given the opportunity to make a wonder save. I'll fully admit I just got big and it hit me, but I had no real right to make a stop. The way the ball pinged out of the centre of the glove though - phwoar!

5-0 win, only touched the ball twice. Oppositions keeper played out of her skin though, the scoreline doesnt reflect her performance, just the performance of the rest of her team, we didnt play particularly well as a team though which was the frustrating part.

We had a 1 - 1 draw. Another early goal against us costing us dearly. we played poorly all first half, and a lot better in the second. Oppos goal was within a minute or two. My defense messed around with it in the D and had about 4 chances to clear but didn't. Striker got free on the base line so I stepped out to cover. he dummied to my right and I just got my weight wrong and he snuck it in my near post  After that I had a good game and made 7 or 8 decent saves - but it was still frustrating.
Oppo keeper made a ton of saves and had a great game. we had maybe 10 chances to score and he just did really well. Also they had a defender who seemed to be able to pick everything.

We managed to scratch together a team this week mostly made up of fourth and fifth team players...we came away with a 5-0 defeat but considering the difference between 4th/5th team and 2nd team level, the guys did really well and there are no complaints. Unfortunately it probably does end our promotion challenge, but there is always next season...

Good week for us despite our game being called off. Our main rivals for the third promotion place lost. 1 point behind them with 3 games in hand.

6-2. Had a word after the game though - keep deciding we won't defend at certain points of the game. It's incredibly disappointing that we keep shipping goals to poor teams because we don't try when the game is done.

Big win for us against 2nd in the league 3 - 1. they didn't travel well and were missing a few players - having beaten us 3 - 0 when they were at home - but still were a decent side.

They scored first aerial played into the D - missed by one of my players and dropped to an un marked attacker. he had lots of room, i stepped out to him but he beat me.

After that I had a strong game and made a bunch of saves. a few from shorts and quite a few from open play. Our whole team played well so happy all round!

Played a rollercoaster 9-goal-thriller against a team battling against relegation.

Conceded in minute one. Equalised in minute two. Pulled off a wicked save with my left hand diving low to my right, and denying a chip-shot.

Went in to the break 3-2 down, but pulled up to 3-3 soon afterwards. A defensive miscommunication put a stray cross past me. It was tipped goalward with a back-stick, I saved it in to the face of a sliding striker who tapped it home with his chin. The umpires deliberated for 4 minutes before awarding the goal.

Thanks to the cool head of our captain and center forward we pinched a winner in the dying minutes.

Didn't get to play as the opposition couldn't raise a team - for a home game! And next week's a blank too. :(
