The games have been moved to Tonbridge School at 5:15pm and 7:15pm. The are pitch watering issues at Saint Hill.

Grinstead's water pumps were knackered, so both games were moved to Tonbridge school. The women's match was a 0-0 draw.

Men's match was postponed due to lighting issues.

Yep got that all from the tweets but the last one stating "out of our control" seemed to suggest more. Was it another Oxted moment.

There was a suggestion at one point that the lights were on a timer and would go off at 8pm, the match was scheduled to start at 7:15pm, but the sports centre was fully staffed and I'm sure that could have been dealt with.

I might be wrong but I presume it's a reference to a conference game between Holcombe and Oxted a few years ago. The floodlights weren't on but were needed. There was only one key to open the controls to turn the lights on and that key was with another club member who was playing in an away match at the time. Cue postponement, embarrassment and a field day for @ARB on twitter.

That's not my understanding. I believe the lights are programmed to switch off at 8pm at the weekend (9pm midweek) as a requirement of the planning permission that was granted for them. The timer can't be over-written.

I stand corrected. Thank you for clarifying.

Such a shame for the first week to have this kind of hiccup and foreseeable if it is as @redumpire states (fixed time for switch off)

It wasn’t really foreseeable, as the game had been moved from EG’s home ground to Tonbridge school at very short notice because of problems with the watering system at EG.

Understand that but more about the fixed time for lights out. Really unfortunate re the water. Hope it's fixed soon.

The really unfortunate thing is the 'punishment' for faulty equipment is to be allowed to choose any weekend to get the fixture replayed and what better weekend than one where you don't have a game but your opponents do. You can't make it up.

Not buying this - having watched the game it was fairly even but the gk was at fault for at least 3 if not 4 of the goals. And yet he is the England No.1 and is a very poor example of a captain for the country after getting caught intentionally gloving the ball into him and covering it he goes for the crowd!

Holcombe played at 6pm on Saturday night. It makes a big difference trust me.

Everyone loves s conspiracy theory. Shame that Appendix 5 of the league regulations makes it clear that the slip date for 23 Sept is 7 Oct. As Holcombe’s scheduled game for 8 Oct had been rearranged to 7 Oct the relevant date shifts to 8 Oct. No “choosing” of dates by either team...

That being the case still very unfair on Holcombe - anyone saying playing late on Saturday would not have an impact has obviously never played. Perhaps they should have had a walkover for the “nowaternolightsgate”
