Cannock's second pitch (since re-laid) was fairly bad with the stretched turf over time

Looks alright to me, but then I’m delighted by a flat pitch.

Why are you guys being so critical? It's not the club's fault if an earthquake makes things look less than perfect.

Haha you don’t have to worry about the side lines! (Totally didn’t notice the other week...)

Hampstead and Westminster’s 2nd pitch and the Linford Christie Stadium pitch has patches on the P-spots that are different turf to the rest of the pitch. If you hit it wrong the ball goes flying up

Coombe dingle in Bristol used to have P spots which were about 15mm higher than the pitch and had the same effect.

Raises an interesting question, when does an umpire complain about it?

Given complaint probably means entire club can't use their pitch - but then you can't play hockey on an out of limits pitch...

The sand based pitch there (which has now been relayed, thank god) also had wonky sidelines and wasn’t flat. It’s loads better now!!

In Midlands umpires are allowed to put a note on the form about pitch conditions but for the most part, what's it going to do? Team are probably aware of the issue, both teams have to play with the same conditions and unfortunately few clubs have the money to just lay a new pitch or even to paint over and re-mark it all

    Just the P-spots?

Second pitch at Stowe School after ‘improvements’ this summer.

Oxford Uni had to find a new home for some of their first team ladies matches earlier this year - the league said the pitch wasn’t up to standard

Painted lines were barely visible and the goals borderline dangeroous

Interestingly the lower teams’ league was happy for them to keep playing but the South League said no.

Wonky lines are the least of some teams problems. Aberystwyth University had someone sign off on replacing their pitch with a nice new one which turned out to be long pile and completely unusable for hockey. The Uni team and local club teams based at the Uni now have to trek to Newtown to play.

When you turn up to see the local authority has ‘repaired’ your pitch for you...[IMG][IMG]

Beach hockey is all the rage these days, didn't you know? They're just holding onto a slice of summer.

The last time I looked, just the P spots at Paddington Rec, but the pitch at Linford Christie has 2 strips across the pitch, just like Stowe (thanks for the heads up btw, I’m there this weekend!)

A&C 3s will get that pitch. A&C 6s and Woking will get the good one.
