Hockey India, the federation which runs the sport in the country, has elected its president
Vidya Stokes is 83 year old and she does not know anything about hockey....
Even after government rule regarding the age
She still stood and won the elections
Can it get worse than this

Even when the world hockey community is watching indian hockey with a microscope, they go ahead and make this goofball appointment, there not even trying to help themselves. Madness and terrible for such a great hockey nation.

Only in India could you break the rules, so openly, and still get away with it.

The FIH must must must step in with sanctions now. FIFA stepped in when Nigeria banned their football team from compatition, so should the FIH!

Hahahahaha! Im not sure its the players fault to be honest - or the coach!
Its all the others who have a perceived sense of importance and relevance that are the problem!

Actually this is the opposite of FIFA banning Nigeria. Preventing her from taking up the role because of a Government rule on age would be political interference in the running of the Association

    And to add to that
Government has de-recognized the newly elected body within few hours after it was formed
the lady who won was not even present in the voting
and she won 41-21 against a former hockey player and ex-captain of the team Pargat Singh

Indian Hockey is in near to end because Indian players are not getting proper hockey field to do practice even they are practicing on that old hockey field where they requires more physical strength as compare to international hockey fields Indian Hockey Fields are not well prepared junior level players are playing on old un-mannered fields that are too bad.

as Geriverstik said..India did manage to win a CWG medal, not to mention beating Pakistan (who, one could very easily argue, were in even more disarray than India generally are at the time of the CWG) with relative ease.
and India HAVE risen in the world rankings since 2008 and are now back in the top 10!!!!!

    no problems at all then.

    what utter bollocks
