We're looking at buying some new kit this year as the boys have been running around in the same old (rapidly fading) shirts for a few years now (with a sponsor who no longer exists) and it's time for a change.

Does anyone have any knowledge on good, reliable suppliers, places to avoid, comments on durability, suitability for hockey etc. Good and bad kit buying experiences welcome, we're after the usual, shirts, shorts, socks, hoody.

    Cheers

    Major health warning with tempest..

Very slow on delivery and very nfeliable. Kukri are quite a good inexpensive brand.

If you like nice designs there's a very good new player in town - Akuma

So new that I (for one) can't access their website (for hockey).
Hope the kit is cheaper than their Polo gear - don't fancy paying £80 for a shirt.

Kukri (if I recall correctly) have a horrendous delivery time, and only a short period during which you can order the shirts.

Can't comment on other manufacturers as I haven't had personal experience of them.

Kukri kit is nice but as previously mentioned, the delivery time can leave a lot to be desired. Additionally they changed designs slightly between seasons so some players have one design and some players have another. Looks a bit crap.

Bobolinhio, have you considered speaking to a retailer rather than a manufacturer. One of my contemporaries always buys his team's kit from Gilmour Sports which he claims provide great service.

    Hi Bobolinhio,

My club has recently signed a two year partner club contract with the guys at Zoti Sports. So far they have been very good. The delivery time is 5 weeks and there have been no issues with this. They also have the facility to design your own kit, pick the material and add sponsor logos etc and don’t charge an intial set up fee for the club logo embroidery (which a lot of shops have started to do). We charge £20 for a shirt at my club which covers production, embroidery and delivery charges, with £1 per shirt going to the club fund. Might be worth giving them a shout with what you are wanting and see what they can offer you. The guy I contact is called Ricky and his email is below if you want it.

    ricky@zotisports.com

Disclaimer: I have NO connection with Zoti Sports but have been very impressed by the service.

quality of kukri kit is superb I've found (our unis just switched to them), but also there's a huge range of leisure wear etc etc...
Zenith also do really nice kit...
as for reordering with kukri I'm fairly certain they can reproduce old design exactly from previous orders.

from what I've seen of zenith (Leeds Met Unis kit and their stuff at the Champs Trophy in Notts) its a better quality of kit than tempests, and tempest is nice stash, and also they seemed to be bigger on the bespoke side of it...

Zenith is something certainly, but an offspring no. They are not linked to us in the slightest but they do employ some former employees.

Off topic but AFIAK Zenith came about when Tempest started to go under - some of the key memebers (Skinner, Jones et al) left and started Zenith.

On topic: http://www.team-colours.co.uk/ Used these guys before - usually about 4-6 week turn around time and a massive range of shirts and polos designs to customise.

Back on topic - Mr Tempest has already stated that they didnt 'start to go under' - they merely encountered cashflow problems like every other business in the world.

BCurri is good stuffs. And they can accomodate all colours you want.
I believe we pay something like 40 SGD for the jersey which is less than 20Pounds. Delivery time is ok as mentionned by Inselhaffen
