Currently coaches fill in a paper attendance register each week and these are collected and the data entered on a spreadsheet. The membership sec can then check who is training and whether they are paid up members, on trial sessions etc.

I want to update this with an app on an iPhone or Android phone. The idea is the coach clicks a box next to a name in the app and when completed clicks save. This is then uploaded to Dropbox, Google or similar and is immediately available to the membership sec.

Anyone running a system like this or got any recommendations.

    Thanks

I know Leamington HC run a bar code system with scanners that they run with stickers that can be placed on players' sticks etc.

Sounds like Google docs would be the simplest way to go?

Sounds like a prime Google docs case

If you want a fancy app I'm sure there are loads - I'm thinking of event management type systems - but if you just want a spreadsheet record then Google docs all the way surely

You can make a form via google docs I believe. This seems like something you could use, cause it then sends the info to a spreadsheet. I'm pretty sure you could set it up as a simple box check and save then have the tally or week by week show up in the spreadsheet.

At Uni we use the FA's register system Upshot however I don't know if it's comparable/easier/clunkier to use than Google docs...

Thanks. I've had a quick look and it costs. I'll go with google sheets.

We are using Google Docs as well. Something new that we are doing this year is that on our FB team chat we create a plan for every training session. Players mark going or not and coaches would know from the morning how many people will turn up for the evening session. Quick and very effective!
