Liam Brignull to Bishop's Cleave.
I thought it was a wind up but there you go: http://www.gloucestershirelive.co.u.../former-international-hockey-star-sign-162872
All very quiet, must be something going on out there....
Cards close to chests! Guessing with most teams starting pre-season training in the next couple of weeks, all(??!) will become clear......
As Rafiki would say 'change is good' ........
I've seen 2 coaching roles confirmed.
Can't remember if Jason Lee taking over Reading men has been mentioned on here or not.
Also saw Soma Singh to coach at Old Georgians on their twitter page last week.
No idea if it's been mentioned but probably not as it's not national league but Leek have got a new coach in the shape of Ali Ghazanfar, so think they will be looking to bounce straight back from MRHA to National League.
Lewers to Wimbledon
Interesting. I'm assuming that means the end of his days at Deeside?
Oxted have been busy too - check their Twitter feed for info
Apparently not, I've heard he will still be playing National League as Leek will be playing Saturday's. What happens on the three cup weekends is another question.
Beeston Twitter account worth a viewing. They have taken announcing new players to a new level (or in a different direction - take your pick)
Anyone else speed the....
"Holcombe were the recipients of a place in the EHL KO16 made available by Surbiton's decision not to compete in this year's competition due to a large number of their players likely to take part in the Commonwealth Games."
Surbiton apparently withdrawing from the EHL on the Commonwealth's account.
FFS that is certainly not great. Looking at Holcombes current position I would hazard that they will not be one of our top 4 teams this year and so will be unlikely to trouble Europe.
We so badly need EHL ranking points.
I think Holcombe cost English sides hugely by taking the Jacksons/Middleton/Pinner type people away from Prem league clubs into Conf East. This weakened the EHL clubs who needed these guys.
Now we are faced with this!
Don't blame Holcombe I blame the England setup for that. Could have easily said you want to play international you must play Prem and put the decision firmly at the players door.
I wonder what EH have to say about this
Isn't the main issue here that the Commonwealth Games clash with the EHL. In that respect any 'Top 4' English side faces an issue.
More of an issue when you are scrambling for ranking points and your top team pulls out
I guess their alternative was to play with what they have which (even though I am connected to Holcombe) I think is the preferred option because they earned it. I heard 14 players potentially to be called up to the Commonwealth Games, which shows what a great squad they have.
