hi everyone I'm intrested in the Wang hockey stick by uber hockey. What are your thoughts on this hockey stick in terms of its feel, power and the shape of the low bow? (i want to be able to flick quite easily from the defence to around the midfield.) i currently own a malik brick so is this stick similar or different to it? thanks in advance for all your help anish
AAARRRGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!!!      You have got to be kidding me, right? No-one has heard of them before, newty has a mate who has got one (from what I can infer anyway) and thus no-one can give an opinion really. either find someone who has one and try it, or go out and get a slazenger flick.
No, people buy proper sticks from proper manufacturers, not some single entendre carry on special from dave down the pub.
Never heard of it & definitely never seen one in 20 years of playing. For £90 there are alot of good tried and tested sticks out there, personally i would give it a wide berth.
personally, I think a proper pub stick should have a screw on end cap so you can have a yard of ale (of sorts) stored within! would be a top tour stick! although i'd end up filling my mates' with lead shot and then glueing the end shut.
I bought a stick "in the pub" or it could have been an auction website, i digress as it turned out to be left handed, Honestly. Comes out on "fun" tours and upsets all sorts of players and officials. Beware the one trick manufacturer!!
My favourite silly stick has to be the Brine CD5000. had a massive cutout in the head so you could pick the ball up and chuck it! mental.
Hi anish i have to agree with the others, know one hasn't really heard of uber hockey so i dont think they're great sticks but if you own a malik brick then im guessin the brick should be better than the wang stick also if your looking for the same bow, carbon and price then look at woodworm hockey and the glow worm or megabite sticks. They seem to look great with owners from england and lots of carbon content Good luck mate
thanks for the help! I've just been on voodoo's website and I'm intrested in the v3 mould that they have. is the asphalt jungle v3 similar to my brick? or should i just stay with malik? ???
well looking at barringtons sports the brick has alot more reviews saying the stick is great amazing and they would recomend it plus it even says in the description its great value for money so id go with the brick or get a Gryphon pro blade for the same sort of money http://www.barringtonsports.com/products/2/style/gryphon_pro_blade_superlight_rlb_composite_hockey_stick_2009/9342/view
Hi Guys, I have sourced some Uber Hockey sticks and hope to put a full review of the Wang on the forum soon. For reference, there is one guy behind the brand, he is English too Daniel!! And just to satisfy your curiosity Anish, the bow on the Wang is very similar in size to the Rage, Malik DC curve or Dita's Exa 400/500 shape. So not a huge low bow, but low enough.
ahhh the Uber Wang... I know a couple of guys who have these... both players are sponsored by uber I believe... One of my mates at Streetly just got his b4 xmas but hasn't had a chance to play with it yet due to the weather... All I can say is that it really is very bright! The other guy who I know has one is the current top goal scorer in Mids Prem (regional div below national league), 23 goals in 11 games... cant guarantee he's using the wang for these though, and he is a short corner specialist... The brands only recently been launched (october maybe?!?!), so at the moment they're trying to get some awareness out there...
COMPLETELY different shape to the TT10 though. The bow is nowhere near as severe. Keep an eye in the reviews section over the next couple of weeks - not much time for testing with all the pitches being snowed out. EDIT: Background info - http://www.stainesnews.co.uk/staines-and-ashford-news/news-staines-and-ashford/2010/01/14/egham-hockey-website-attracts-cult-following-54472-25599323/
i might put buying a stick on hold until a review comes out for the Wang. i hope someone will put up a review in the next few weeks as i really want to know how this stick preforms with other sticks from leading manufacturers.
Hold your breath, you'll probably see one in a week or two from a mystery reviewer. When the snow clears enough for them to play at least!
